By the water - live the classic Lake Como experience.
Apparamento Le Agavi is situated right by the lake in the heart of Tremezzo. If you don’t want to bring a car then this gorgeous Lombardy apartment is the natural choice.

A stunning apartment in a 200 year old borgo style house with lake views, period features and large lake facing terrace. It was completely refurbished in 2007 retaining its original features.

On your arrival in Tremezzo you will see beautiful covered porticos and verandas of the Lake front that hosts lovely family run cafes and restaurants. The buildings and views are the very essence of Lake Como. Blue waters, green mountains and dramatic landscapes.

At the end of the portico there are some stone steps beside the traditional farmacia (chemist) that take you up to the private entrance of the apartment. Through the wrought iron gates you enter the welcoming terrace area with its terracotta tiles, stone well and iron lantern. A handmade ceramic plate bearing the name of the apartment, which means the Agar flower in Italian, greets you.

The sun bleached painted masonry and shutters of the building add to the wonderful feeling of traditional Italy as do the surrounding buildings that frame the view across the lake at the end of your private terrace.

Through the grand double front doors with its glass archway you immediately enter the living area that is set out for both living and dining. The sumptuous Lombardy furniture in heavy wood is complimented by the tiled floor, dramatic high ceilings and carved wooden door reliefs. Light pours in from the tall windows highlighting the traditional plastered ceiling that is finished in red paint and hand painted relief.

The comfortable sofa that is also a queen size sofa bed and large cosy chairs give you the perfect relaxation area after dinner on either the terrace or the dining area. It also has Satellite TV.

Further on and up a few steps you enter the kitchen area with everything a keen chef might need to prepare dinner on the terrace.

Through another door is the bathroom with tiles throughout, bidet, wc and shower and built-in vanity unit.

Again from the living area you pass through large wooden double doors into the first bedroom. You will fall in love with this space and its romantic feel - it’s just gorgeous. A large iron double bedstead and dark wooden furniture are softened by the rose walls and floor tiles that light up from sunlight pouring in from your very own French doors that open onto the patio and terrace.

From the first bedroom you access the second bedroom which too has all of the romance that a Lake Como visit can inspire. With its twin iron bedsteads that can be used as two singles or a double, and ample storage space, the second bedroom makes flexible accommodation. It too has a light and airy feel from tall French doors leading onto the patio.

Once out on the terrace and patio the drama heightens. The long terrace is flanked either side by large circular terracotta pots and a frosted privacy panel. A wrought iron table and chairs make a stunning setting for outdoor entertaining and there are several sun loungers for relaxation.

The end of the terrace is set back enough from the road to minimise passing traffic disturbance but close enough to allow enjoying the view of the lake in its full glory. At certain times during the season the tree in front of the terrace may restrict the view partially when it is in bloom.

Parking can be provided with the property in a secure garage close to the apartment. The cost for this is 10 euro per day paid directly to the owner.

Appartamento Le Agavi - sleeping up to six people. Living/dining area with double sofa bed, kitchen, one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, one bathroom with shower, large lakefront terrace. Cots can be hired for €30 per week but guests need to provide their own cot linen.

In the nearby village of Cadenabbia on the lakefront is a private swimming pool and lido with bar that can be used by Bella Como guests for a small daily charge. Under 12 years go free. In Tremezzo there is also a gorgeous lake side public park with fountains and a bar/cafe. Pictures are above.

Out and about without a car

Walking is both easy and enjoyable around this part of the lake. On your doorstep you be will rewarded with fresh bread and fresh groceries from the gorgeous store by the church. Just 20 metres across the road you are by the lake and the local ferry port from which you can travel across the lake to Bellagio or Menaggio for example.

The piazzas and streets have wonderful family run cafés and restaurants that are open most days from dawn till late where locals meet on the way to work for a brioche and espresso, or after work for a relaxing glass of Prosecco. There is also a good selection of restaurants such as 'Helvetia', 'Red & White' and 'El Timon' which are right next door.

Tremezzo is in the centre of the recently opened 'greenways'; these give you clear routes (denoted by beautiful green granite slabs and steel markers) for some of the best walks around the lake. You also within walking distance to Villa Balbianello (of James Bond fame) and the stunning gardens of Villa Carlotta.

We thoroughly enjoyed Le Agari and would stay there again if we were back in the region. The terrace for us was the major attraction particularly as the weather for the week was consistently sunny. We dined on that terrace everyday and ate out in the local restaurants in the evenings mostly. The bedrooms were wonderfully bright and when we opened the double doors in each bedroom, there was a wonderful sense of light and space. We loved the view of the lake from the matrimonial bedroom - what a perfect view to behold. Uninterrupted view of the lake - how lucky we felt. There was also a feeling of privacy being on the first floor and not overlooked.

The standard of appliances, crockery, linen, everything was really excellent. Everything was immaculate. This really impressed us. The rubbish disposal was really convenient and discreet as you could go up the steps and over to dispose of the rubbish.

The sofa area was really comfortable and the dining and kitchen area really well laid out. We spent least time in the living room as the weather was so pleasant on the terrace. The only comment we'd have is that when the temperature drops outside, the apartment can be a bit cold in the evening time. I know it might be hard to heat the place to a cosy temperature as the ceilings are so high but if the weather was cool or rainy I'd suggest either being able to turn up the thermostat or roll in an additional heater. I realise in the height of summer that retreating to the cooler part of the apartment of the house might be a definite attraction. We were fine in the apartment and just wore an extra layer of clothing in the evening time so this was not a problem for us.

Well done to the owners for offering such a beautiful apartment in superb condition for people to enjoy.

We had no concerns re noise despite being close to the coastal road. This was not a problem for us at all. The location of the apartment is one of the main attractions of the apartment and close to all one needs for a week or longer term let. The staff in local shops and restaurants were really friendly and there's a good choice of restaurants available and different types of restaurants too from casual dining to more up market ones. The local shop stocks all one would need upon arrival until one could visit the supermarket in Menaggio. The gift shop in the village is also excellent and sells a lot of items made in Italy rather that the usual 'made in China' which one gets everywhere. This might appeal to some tourists.

We travelled everywhere using local transport and the frequency of the buses and boats made for very convenient sight seeing. There's even a 10 km walk starting from the village which is wonderful introduction to the landscape of this beautiful region. Even with a 4 year old we managed to complete this walk and thoroughly enjoy the experience.

This is probably a longer comment that you had expected but we loved the apartment and the area and would hope to come back. We'd definitely recommend it to friends and family.

The apartment was in a great location and was very clean. The owners were very helpful. We would definitely consider coming back.

We had a wonderful fortnight in Le Agari - what a lovely property.

We cannot recommend the Winebar 'Cantina Follie' highly enough, which is about 27 steps from the front door! Wine and cheese under cover of a vine and set back from the more touristy area of the main road - fantastic.

All facilities at the appartment were wonderful and whilst it would be a squeeze for 6 people for 2 it was lovely and spacious.

Thank you too to Bella Como who were kind enough to text us to warn us of a Bank Holiday so that we could get the shopping done the day before.

We enjoyed the holiday very much, thank you.

We loved our stay in Tremezzo - everything was convenient and easy, a great vacation. The owners were very helpful with showing us how to operate the washer and dishwasher.

I only have very minor suggestions to make the stay more enjoyable - add a hair dryer and make it clear that you must get to the master bedroom via the twin bedroom.

Thanks for a wonderful vacation and we hope to be back next year.

Fantastic apartment in Tremezzo. Steps to restaurants, ferry, and swimming. Very clean and well equipt. The owner, Marco is the pharmacist downstairs and is very helpful and friendly. We travel to Italy often, but this was our first time in Como area. Tremezzo is in an excellent location to get from village to village by ferry. There is also excellent walking trails with astounding views. The only downside was the noise in the evening coming from traffic and the bar on the other side of the apartment. Because the location is so central, the vehicle noise cant be helped and it doesnt take long to get used to it. The benefits of the location far outweigh the noise.

The customer service from Lynn and Chris at BellaComo was exceptional both before and after the booking process. We ran into them a couple of times and were delighted that they were able to share some insight to the area. Being british expats, their english is perfect. In fact, the Como area of Italy has very good English speaking services.

I would not hesitate to recommend this aparment to a family or couple (probably not babies as it may be a bit noisy for them to sleep) and without a doubt - call Lynn and Chris to find any one of their apartments.

We have already recommended them to many people.

If you are looking for a relaxing, beauitiful vacation - and this apartment is available TAKE IT!

Great apartment, lovely area, owner very friendly and helpful. Great restaurants (Red and White, Helvetia, El Timon) next door. Up the hill is Al Veluu which I would definitely recommend. Overall great value and all 5 of us had a great time.

I loved the location of the property! I also really loved the private lake view terrace. The property was well appointed and very very clean. The only drawback, and maybe not for all, is that you have to walk though on of the bedrooms to reach the only bathroom. Overall a incredible value and very convenient if you don't want to bother with a car. Also the owner Marco is very very nice. And working with David and Bella Como was seamless

This apartment is really excellent on many fronts! It is spacious, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. And just as importantly it is located very close to two excellent restaurants - Red and White and Helvetia - which we would massively recommend - particularly Red and White where the staff are so friendly, welcoming and informative, and the food great.
The apartment was located on the first floor and set back from the main lake road. We live in some isolation at home in England and were concerned about the noise. There is no doubt it is a little intrusive when you sit on the patio/balcony, especially in the evenings, despite this we were never disturbed at night by noise from the road or the restaurants. Parking in Tremezzo is difficult in high season, if you want to stay longer than an hour, so the private parking offered by the owner is a must. If I were to be really really picky, then a little more lighting on the patio for the evenings would be helpful for guests like us with young children who want to have food alfresco when the little one is in bed - and some more mirrors around the apartment to check on the tan!
We would advise guests to look at Bella Como's restaurant recommendations - they are good. We went to several - including the two mentioned above! But Le Colonne in Como stood out too. The red and white take away service is very very good value - and you get a ten per cent discount there. At Al Veluu we thought the view and surroundings idyllic , and the service excellent. But the food did not justify the Gordon Ramsay prices.....my 5 year old was unable to bite into his meringue it was so hard!! Also just a word of warning about the Lido at Cernobbia - we paid 20 euros to get in each time - that's 2 adults and a five year old with only the five year old using the pool, and that included a discount because we were guests of Bella Como! For guests with families then the park is wonderful with a nice play area and cafe on the lake, linked by a bridge over the busy road. And there are supermarkets in Lenno and Menaggio - the little store in Tremezzo is lovely but limited! And if you want to try and use the Grand Hotel Tremezzo's floating pool by having lunch there, it may be best to book in advance as when the hotel is full, then you can't get in.

The position of the apartment overlooking the lake was excellent. The proximity to restaurants cannot be surpassed especially as the nearest (just at the bottom of the steps leading up to the apartment) gave 10% reduction to us as we were Bellacomo customers! Marco, the owner and Pharmacist in the shop below, was also excellent. On our first night we had a disaster when the unoccupied apartment above (under restoration) had a burst water pipe and water descended, at first over the balconies above and then through the ceilings! We spent the night (3 of us) in a 'family' room when the beds and clothing were removed from the bedrooms as Marco was afraid the ceilings might collapse! They didn't. We insisted on staying despite Marco suggesting that we should contact Bellacomo for a transfer as the apartment was ideal for our needs. Two evenings later Marco arrived with a bottle of Prosecco and a very large cake!

Note from Bella Como. Many thanks to these understanding guests! I am very pleased to say the apartment upstairs is all fixed and Le Agavi is now safe and sound.

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay....so much so we would love to move permenantly to Lake Como. Our accomodation was perfect for our family although may not be as suitable for 2 couples travelling together. We loved the crew at Red and White in Tremazzo and Al Vue.......thanks for the recommendations.

Good morning,

I booked the Le Agave apartment at Tremezzo through Bella Como. We were calling it "the too good to be true" apartment as I had spent ages looking for something suitable.

The service I had from Bella Como was very friendly and professional. The welcome by Dr. Arosio at Le Agave was very lovely and the apartment was so spotless and pleasant with everything working (including internet) beautifully.

I expected that the large terrace would be shared by others in the building BUT it was all ours!! We had a fabulous time and the restaurants suggested to us were excellent.

Many thanks for making our Lake Como stay so enjoyable.

Kind regards,

We loved our stay at Le Agavi. The owner was friendly and helpful. The apartment was large, clean and ideally located. The only negative was the sound of traffic starting early in the morning and continuing into the evening. The east-facing terrace was large and lovely for enjoying a sunny breakfast in the morning, cool in the evening.

This is the second time we stayed at this apartment overlooking Lake Como and we enjoyed it even better this time as the weather was perfect and each day we sat out on our terrace enjoying wine and appetizers. My son loves this place and special mention should go to the fabulous Alex and his wife who run the Red and White Cafe next door who are some of the nicest people we have met in Italy. This place is a true gem and a very spacious place to stay in a perfect location on Lake Tremezzo: ferry right outside the door, park and playground and swimming beach very close by, pharmacy right below which is very convenient. We will be back.

Clean spacious apartment, mattress a bit lumpy but overall enjoyable stay.

Absolutely fantastic location. Close to Information desk, wonderful sites, and importantly very close to ferry stops. Many great eateries and bar EXTREMELY close by (Red and White, and the Cantina Follie were highlights) which were all wonderful. Relaxing was very easy to do, and the managers of the apartment were very pleasant and helpful. Beautiful apartment with amazing internal features of 3 ft thick walls, and massive wooden doors. A great place to stay.

Hello Bellacomo

Thanks for the things you helped us with during our stay your personal service is to be commended and will recommend you to all our friends that want to come here also the apartment was outstanding place right in the centre of Tremezzo very close to all the places to eat and drink, nice little wine bar up the side street, we will be back again.

Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and loved the accommodation and the terrace. We only found out when we arrived that we could have pre-ordered some basic provisions as we really did not read the website properly - we arrived with nothing and the local shops were pretty basic. The double bed mattress is very uncomfortable and should be replaced in my opinion its far to hard and I could not have coped with another night on it. However as I said, overall we enjoyed our stay and will recommend Bella Como to our friends as they are really welcoming and looked after us throughout our stay.

Thank you
Accommodation could use a little bit of paint now after a busy season but apart from that it was perfect.
We all had a amazing time here and will no doubt be back thanks for you help with booking the places we wanted to visit like Villa Carlotta was beautiful place to visit and only a short walk from our place.
Marco and his wife where a real help also very nice people.

Hello Bellacomo
Thanks for the nice place to stay we had a great time using the local wine bar from your recommendations and just down stairs to all the restaurants, would come again.

Pearl Norway 2013

Le Agavi is brilliantly located right in the heart of Tremezzo and the terrace is wonderful. We had a lovely time and the personal service from bellacomo was fantastic!
Many thanks

It was just perfect for us. We had the most wonderful relaxing vacation and holiday together as a family. Grazie!

Hi, I found the accommodation to be charming as was the gentleman who met us.
the booking system was good ! and I would use Bellacomo again as they are really friendly people.

Fabulous location and spacious apartment with amazing private terrace. Very comfortable beds, and accommodations. Kitchen fine for light meals, but a little tight for more elaborate cooking. If for two couples, it should be known that for bathroom access from bedroom with queen bed, you have to go through bedroom with twin beds. Not at all an issue since there were just the two of us. It would also be fine for couple with young kids.

We are not light sleepers, but its fabulous location overlooking the lake does mean there is some early morning and late night noise. Owners and manager were all very accommodating.
Security Question : How much is 1+2 ?
