Driving to Lake Como
If you want to add to the adventure of your trip to Lake Como, then why not consider driving? The roads across Europe are great and the traffic is usually very good. There are many different ways to cross the channel (links below) and quite a few different road routes to get to the lake.
The scenery when you approach Switzerland, Italy and the Alps is stunning and so are all of the passes over the Alps - all of which are very modern, safe and easy to drive over/through.
Although we would recommend you stop for a night on the way to the lake, for the determined it can be done in a day. For advice on travelling by road, the route and where to stay, please give us a call.
Having a car (particularly your own) can be really useful for getting around the lake and despite what you may have heard about driving in Italy, it really is no problem.
