Villa La Rosa – Tremezzo -just launched for 2009


A beautiful garden apartment with country garden in the Tremezzo’ hillside area of Rogaro, with stunning views across to Bellagio and the Monte Crocione.

When you arrive you will realise that you have entered an oasis of calm and tranquillity. The road up from the lake to the apartment winds it way gently above the lake showing Lake Como at its very best.

Rogaro is famed locally for its wild asparagus and its chestnuts, both of which are harvested by the locals in season.

Through the iron gates, the small villa sits on its own in rambling gardens. There is an allocated car parking space to leave your car.

A short walk down the drive way will delight you with views down to the lake that are framed by the valley. At the end of the garden there are stunning vistas across the lake to the pretty and famous town of Bellagio. It’s a photographers or painters delight.

The Villa apartment La Rosa is on the ground floor of the building with the upstairs occupied by the owner who will be your host. The delightful lady, a very knowledgeable and friendly guide at a famous villa nearby will make you feel very welcome and will be pleased to help you get the best from your surroundings.

Through Double French doors into the living and dining room you have a large wooden dining table with chairs, a sofa that folds into a generous sofa bed, and designer lighting. The room is decorated with pieces by local artists, panoramic photography and a collection of curiosities, adding to the eclectic, cool and friendly atmosphere. When the doors are open your inside space and outside space become one as you spill out onto the large patio with table, chairs, loungers and those lovely views and rambling lawn and gardens. The garden space will not fail in making you smile as you sit in peace and tranquillity.

From the living area and through the hallway you will find a generous bathroom, tiled in blue Italian ceramics, with WC, Bidet, shower and vanity unit. The bathroom is a recent restoration.

Further on and there is a separate kitchen, with wooden units, tiled floor and garden window. It has everything you will need for eating at home.

A little further and you are in the bedroom. A lovely room with large windows and a door to the side garden. This room is very pretty and has a generous painted iron double bed. Light spills in and makes the room feel warm, romantic and comfortable.

In the nearby village of Cadenabbia, on the lakefront is a private swimming pool and lido with bar that can be used by Bella Como guests for 3 euro per day. Under 12 years go free. In Tremezzo there is also a gorgeous lake side public park with fountains and a bar/cafe. Pictures are above

We suggest that is car is essential, but with Villa La Rosa you are never far from the amenities you may need, and if you enjoy walking then a car may not be required. The garden at the lake facing end has a steep area and as such will not be suitable for some children. Young children must be supervised in the garden.

Out and about.

There is a hotel nearby, La Russall, where you can use the tennis courts if you feeling energetic!

Walking is both easy and enjoyable around this part of the lake. A 10-minute walk down into Tremezzo will reward you with fresh food from the lovely deli, and the gorgeous speciality stores in the portico, by the lake. Just 2 minutes further on and you are by the lake, and the local ferry port from which you can travel across the lake to Bellagio for example.

Stunning mountain walks behind the apartment will take you high into the hills above the lake, or you can just take a gentle stroll in the meadows. The owner, your host, is a local guide and will be happy to tell you the secrets of exploring the area. It’s breathtaking.

Down in Tremezzo, the piazzas and streets have wonderful family run cafés and restaurants that are open most days from dawn till late, locals Meet on the way to work for a brioche and espresso, or after work for a relaxing glass of Prosecco. There is also a good selection of restaurants nearby distance including “Al Veluu” which is just around the corner, as is La Fagurida, and La Russall which must be three of the finest eateries on the lake. “Helvetia”, “red & White”, and “El Timon” are also a short walk away (10 mins down the hill and 15 mins on the way back up!) for those lake side evening meals or a cocktail.

Tremezzo is in the centre of the recently opened “greenways”; these give you clear routes (denoted by beautiful green granite slabs and steel markers) for some of the best walks around the lake. You are also close to Villa Balbianello (bond fame) and the stunning gardens of Villa Carlotta.

10 minutes by car takes you to the newly refurbished swimming pool on the lake in Cadenabbia that can be used for a small fee.

A deposit of 25% is payable once we have confirmed your booking. This can be paid by Visa, Mastercard or Bank transfer. The balance is then payable one month before arrival, by Visa, Mastercard or Bank transfer. A modest charge is made by the owner for heating, it is metered and paid on departure. An average apartment will cost around 45 euro per week for heating in winter. A cash deposit to cover breakages will be collected/returned by the owner on arrival/departure. The amount will be confirmed in your arrival pack.
