For those who want a sophisticated and elegant, yet homely base for their Lake Como vacation there is little to rival Casa Meravilgia. It has just been completed as part of a 2 year build and is of the highest standards of Italian craftsmanship.

Situated on one of Tremezzo’ most sought after streets, you will find at the end of private driveway electric gates. Once you have passed through them and parked your car in your allocated parking space you will immediately realise that you are in area of intense natural beauty with stunning Lake views to the front, dramatic mountainscapes to the rear and lush greenery all around. The surrounding Villas and residences make you feel like you really are somewhere special.

Casa Meraviglia occupies the top floor of a private Villa owned and lived in by a local hotelier so you know your host will know just what it takes for a fantastic vacation. After you leave your car a few steps around the side of the villa will lead you to lush gardens and the entrance to the apartment. All around you will have your breath taken away with the amazing views.

From the entrance you enter your hallway. You will immediately feel the quality. The flooring is all solid wood, with a large inlaid design to set the tone. Up a flight of steps you enter the apartments landing area. It has scale. The high ceiling has heavy exposed beams contrasting with the cream walls throughout. There is a quiet balcony, ideal for reading and gazing at the mountains. From the hall there is a bathroom with shower, toilet, bidet and basin tiled throughout with fine Italian tiles.

Turn right and enter the very large living space down two steps, you have a large combined dining and living area again with stunning beams, solid wood floors, corner leather sofa, Sat TV, side balconet, Electric skylight, day furniture, and a lovely solid wood dining suite. To the front prepare to be stunned. A large sliding door takes you to a private balcony, with tiled floor and dining set. Stop and stare. You must have one of the finest views in the whole of Tremezzo. The lake dominates. the view. You can feast your eyes on Tremezzo, across to the Bellagio peninsula, and beyond. In front and below you can survey the villas and architecture of Tremezzo. Truly awe inspiring.

From the living area there is an opening to the kitchen area. It has ample proportions and features oven, hob, and dishwasher . There is also a breakfast bar, exposed roof beams, Balconet window, and electric Skylight.

From the living area, and up two steps, you can also access another bathroom with double shower, Bidet , sink and toilet, with gorgeous Italian tiling. To the right you enter the large master bedroom with double bed, Electric skylight, baloconet window, a private balcony, built in wardrobes and a drawer unit. It too has scale. The furnishing is elegant, the ceilings high with exposed beams and the floor in solid wood.

From the hallway there are a further two bedrooms, both are good sized twin rooms, one with a private balcony, one with a balconet and electric skylight. Both of these bedrooms have exposed beams and wooden floors.

Casa Meraviglia is very special and very rare. It is accommodation of the highest quality, in the best location. It really is hard to find its match.

Please note that the private driveway to the property may be considered steep and care should be exercised when using it with a car.

In the nearby village of Cadenabbia, on the lakefront is a private swimming pool and lido with bar that can be used by Bella Como guests for 3 euro per day. Under 12 years go free. In Tremezzo there is also a gorgeous lake side public park with fountains and a bar/cafe. Pictures are above

Out and about without a car

Walking is both easy and enjoyable around this part of the lake. Approximately a 15-minute walk into either Tremezzo or Mezzegra will reward you with fresh bread from the bakers, a choice of general stores, and green grocers who sell local produce that has just been picked or pulled. You are just 5 minutes further on and you are by the lake, and the local ferry port from which you can travel across the lake to Bellagio for example.

The piazzas and streets have wonderful family run cafés and restaurants that are open most days from dawn till late, locals Meet on the way to work for a brioche and espresso, or after work for a relaxing glass of Prosecco. There is also a good selection of restaurants within walking distance including “Al Veluu” & “Risorgimento” which must be two of the finest eateries on the lake. “Helvetia”, “red & White”, and “El Timon” on also a short walk away for those lake side evening meals or a cocktail.

Tremezzo and Mezzegra are in the centre of the recently opened “greenways”; these give you clear routes (denoted by beautiful green granite slabs and steel markers) for some of the best walks around the lake. You also close to Villa Balbianello (bond fame) and the stunning gardens of Villa Carlotta.

A deposit of 25% is payable once we have confirmed your booking. This can be paid by Visa, Mastercard or Bank transfer. The balance is then payable one month before arrival, by Visa, Mastercard or Bank transfer. A modest charge is made by the owner for heating, it is metered and paid on departure. An average apartment will cost around 45 euro per week for heating in winter. A cash deposit to cover breakages will be collected/returned by the owner on arrival/departure. The amount will be confirmed in your arrival pack.
