Villette Panoramica. A Modern independent apartment with A/C, perched above the pretty village of Argegno with stunning views of Lake Como.

Once you arrive in the Village of argegno you take a local road that winds its way up to an elevated terraced section in the hillside where you really begin to appreciate the magnificence of the views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.

Villette Panoramica is situated off the road and along a private driveway, and is the top floor of a modern apartment building that nestles into the mountainside, on the site of an old Villa. Although it is top floor, access by car, and the main entrance to the apartment are ground level so there are no stairs to climb!

Along its private driveway you will arrive at the Villette Panoramica. It is gated, and once inside the electric gates you can park your car in secure surroundings. Down a few steps you arrive on the terrace, in fact a huge terrace that wraps itself around the apartment. Without apartments either side, behind, or in front you can imagine Panoramica more as a chalet on top of a pretty house arranged as apartments.

From the terrace you enter the property. Once inside, the vaulted ceilings, Italian ceramics, cool white washed walls, and large windows give the apartment an amazing ambience of coolness and light. In fact, to add to the coolness there is air conditioning throughout to ensure you stay comfortable even when its high summer.

In the combined living space there is well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fridge, oven and hob, and plenty of storage. There is a dining table and chairs, two comfortable sofa (one is a sofa bed) Sat TV with DVD, and a computer with high-speed internet connection. From the sofas you can sit and relax and still take in the stunning vistas through the large French doors that lead to the terrace.


From the living room and into a hallway you will find a bathroom with floor to ceiling Italian ceramics, a gorgeous Jazuzzi spa bath, WC, bidet and vanity unit.

Again from the hallway there is twin bedroom with wardrobes. The twin beds can be put together to create another double, it also has an ensuite with shower.

Across the hallway is the master bedroom with double bed, ample wardrobes, French doors to the terrace.

Back outside, on the huge private terrace, you can sit back and enjoy the amazing views that will be yours for the duration of your stay. There is large table and chairs for 6 people, a romantic swing chair and a bar b que.

The owner who will be your host, lives about 10 minutes away by car, is a fluent Italian and English speaker, and also a local tour guide. Her husband runs a local taxi service, which is very convenient for nights out, or airport transfers for example.

Due to its elevated position you will encounter hairpin bends, the roads are excellent quality and should be easily navigated by an average driver. The private driveway unmade and may be considered steep by some.

Out and about.

Being just 10 minutes (on the way down, on the way up allow a bit more time!) from the gorgeous cliff side town of argegno you have no need for a car if that is your preference. The walk down to the village is easy, but bear in mind the elevated position will require a little more energy on the way back up!

There is a marina to catch the ferry to anywhere on the lake and a bus stop too. Argegno has lovely bars, restaurants and shops where you sit by the lake and marina and soak up the ambience and sophistication of the Lake, or you can walk through the maze of quaint old Italian streets that twist and turn. Close by is the Pigra funicular railway that in a few minutes can take you high above the lake for some breathtaking views.

By ferry you are about 20 minutes from Bellagio, Varenna, Tremezzo, Menaggio and of course Como, so you rest assured that you will be able to take in the sights without setting foot on four wheels if that’s your choice.

A deposit of 25% is payable once we have confirmed your booking. This can be paid by Visa, Mastercard or Bank transfer. The balance is then payable one month before arrival, by Visa, Mastercard or Bank transfer. A modest charge is made by the owner for heating, it is metered and paid on departure. An average apartment will cost around 45 euro per week for heating in winter. A cash deposit to cover breakages will be collected/returned by the owner on arrival/departure. The amount will be confirmed in your arrival pack.
