An elegant and stylish period villa on the lake front comprising a gorgeous three bedroom apartment with panoramic views and a stunning lakeside position by Tremezzo marina on Lake Como, exclusively from Bella Como.
Villa Bertoni sits discreetly on the lake front, separated from the water only by the lake road that curves around the natural bay making up the marina in Tremezzo. Behind the imposing stone walls and grand gardens at the front of the villa is the neo classical design of the villa typical of the 1860’s when it was constructed.
From the lake front road and through the iron gates the driveway sweeps through the gardens to the parking area at the rear of the villa. Along the driveway there are ancient trees and a classical Italian garden with extensive lawns, fountains and many interesting period features. A theme that is carried through to the gardens at the rear too.
After parking you enter the villa and into a large hallway. From the hallway on ground level there is a door that leads to the apartment. The ground at the rear of the property is higher than the front, making the apartment a ground floor apartment but with an elevated front giving stunning views across the gardens and lake.
Into the apartment you will immediately be struck by the quality of the building and the interior. The gorgeous honey golden parquet floors go from room to room. From the hallway you enter the impressive living and dining area with its high ceilings covered in the most stunning frescoes. It has two large lake facing windows, a marble fireplace, designer furniture and dining table for six people. The furniture is a mix of new pieces and some gorgeous antiques. At the far end of the living space are large doors that open out on to the extensive L-shaped terrace with its elevated position that wraps around the apartment. It has a large Dedon table and chairs for outside dining and sun loungers. Large sun blinds above can be pulled out to shield you from the heat of the sun or to make the area cosier for eating outside. The views are panoramic and take in the flawless gardens and breathtaking views across the lake.
Back inside and again from the hallway there is the master bedroom with double bed and rear garden facing windows. Again the furnishings are exquisite.
Further along the hallway there is a single bedroom and a luxurious bathroom with bath.
At the end of the hallway you enter the kitchen which has everything you need to create the perfect Italian dinner. It also has a small table and chairs - perfect for breakfast.
From the hallway again and up a short flight of polished wooden stairs you enter the upstairs bedroom suite that comprises a twin bedroom with small garden window, a bathroom with shower and a dressing area on the large landing with wardrobes and a large sofa bed. The finish and quality are delightful and make the bedroom suite very welcoming and cosy.
In the grounds there are extensive shared gardens and a rear sun terrace, mature trees and well cared for gardens. Guests are welcome to enjoy the grounds.
For larger parties and greater flexibility the apartment below (Villa Bertoni Portico) can be booked at the same time.
Villa Bertoni - lake front, sleeping up to six people. Living/dining area with large private terrace, kitchen with dishwasher, one double bedroom, one twin/double bedroom, one single bedroom, two bathrooms one with bath and one with shower, separate dressing area with sofa bed, extensive private gardens. Cots can be hired for €30 per week but guests need to provide their own cot linen. Pre-loaded Internet keys can be hired for €35 per week but must be ordered at least one week in advance to ensure availability (not suitable for IPads).
In the village of Cadenabbia on the lakefront is a private swimming pool and lido with bar that can be used by Bella Como guests for a small daily charge. Under 12 years go free. There is also a gorgeous lakeside public park with fountains, access to the lake for swimming and a bar/cafe just a minutes walk from Villa Bertoni.
Out and about without a car
Walking is both easy and enjoyable around this part of the lake. Approximately a five-minute walk into either Tremezzo or Mezzegra will reward you with fresh bread from the bakers, a choice of general stores and green grocers who sell local produce that has just been picked or pulled. You are on the lake front facing the marina and the stunning promenade for romantic walks and just five minutes from the local ferry port from which you can travel across the lake to Bellagio for example.
The piazzas and streets have wonderful family run cafés and restaurants that are open most days from dawn till late where locals meet on the way to work for a brioche and espresso, or after work for a relaxing glass of Prosecco. There is also a good selection of restaurants within walking distance including 'Al Veluu' , 'Risorgimento' and 'La Darsena' which must be three of the finest eateries on the lake. 'Helvetia', 'Red & White', 'Azalea' and 'El Timon' are also a short walk away for those lake side lunches and evening meals or a cocktail.
Tremezzo and Mezzegra are in the centre of the recently opened 'greenways'; these give you clear routes (denoted by beautiful green granite slabs and steel markers) for some of the best walks around the lake. You are also close to Villa Balbianello (of James Bond fame) and the stunning gardens of Villa Carlotta.

A deposit of 25% is payable once we have confirmed your booking. This can be paid by Visa, Mastercard or Bank transfer. The balance is then payable one month before arrival, by Visa, Mastercard or Bank transfer. A modest charge is made by the owner for heating, it is metered and paid on departure. An average apartment will cost around 50 euro per week for heating. A deposit to cover breakages will be collected/returned by the owner on arrival/departure. The amount will be confirmed in your arrival pack.

We can also provide extra services including Internet dongles, cots, high chairs, pool towels and also delivery of keys to properties outside of our normal meet and greet service (price dependant on location of property).
