The apartment sits in the historic centre of Menaggio, just a short walk from the village centre and Lake, just as it has done for the last 600 years. The building has its origins in the past when it was constructed by pilgrims as a pilgrims resting place on the long trek from the north to the Vatican City.
Over the years the building has been added to and is now an important feature of the historic, and preserved, Centro storico of Menaggio. In fact its where Bella Como is based too!
If you arrive by boat, car or bus, finding the apartment is easy. Its position will immediately make you feel that you have arrived in real Italy with cobbled streets, church tower and bells and small shops selling artisan goods. Indeed just next door is a renowned art dealer selling local works.
On arrival and through the sturdy wooden entrance doors you enter the centre of the building. Its simple interior will once again remind you that you are in a living building where local residents reside.
Up three flights of stone steps you reach the apartment.
The door opens into the open kitchen and dining area that has a modern kitchen, including two ring hob, and small oven, wooden floors, table and chairs, and a sofa bed. To the right is the bathroom with shower, there is also a washing machine too. Tiled in Italian ceramics, and recently refurbished.
From the kitchen diner you enter the living space with Sofa bed, Sat TV, and two windows that faces out to the historic cobbled lane, via Castellino da Castello that leads up to the old castle behind the apartment.
Apartamento Centro Menaggio is a bright, functional studio in a lovely part of Menaggio and is ideal for use as a base for your stay in the town, and whilst it does not have outside space or lake views it does have a cosy feel, great position and historical roots. Most people only get to walk around the Centro Storico, with this apartment you get to stay.

Out and about.
Menaggio is one of the lakes most famous villages. In the Piazza Garibaldi and the surrounding streets you have everything you need from fresh bread to Prada shoes. The cafes and restaurants are in abundance and there are some gorgeous places to eat. There is no need to bring a car too.
You have numerous bus routes and ferrys all within a short walk. Days out to the famous destinations of Bellagio, Tremezzo, and Varenna are all just a short ferry ride away, as are the gardens of Villa Carlotta.
You are also just a short bus trip from Lugano in Switzerland too. To the back of Menaggio there is the old town with its castle remains cobbled lanes and numerous walks, and to the front you have a long promenade along the lake with palm trees and horticultural gardens for lovely evening strolls before drink and dinner.
Just a short walk away too, is the Lido di Menaggio with two swimming pools, sandy beach, terraces, cafι and pizzeria. It has just been refurbished and is open to the public for a small entrance fee.
