Apparamento Le Agavi is situated right by the lake in the heart of Tremezzo. If you don’t want to bring a car then this gorgeous Lombardy apartment is the natural choice.

A stunning apartment in a 200 year old borgo style house with lake views, period features and large lake facing terrace. It was completely refurbished in 2007 retaining its original features.

On your arrival in Tremezzo you will see beautiful covered porticos and verandas of the Lake front that hosts lovely family run cafes and restaurants. The buildings and views are the very essence of Lake Como. Blue waters, green mountains and dramatic landscapes.

At the end of the portico there are some stone steps beside the traditional farmacia (chemist) that take you up to the private entrance of the apartment. Through the wrought iron gates you enter the welcoming terrace area with its terracotta tiles, stone well and iron lantern. A handmade ceramic plate bearing the name of the apartment, which means the Agar flower in Italian, greets you.

The sun bleached painted masonry and shutters of the building add to the wonderful feeling of traditional Italy as do the surrounding buildings that frame the view across the lake at the end of your private terrace.

Through the grand double front doors with its glass archway you immediately enter the living area that is set out for both living and dining. The sumptuous Lombardy furniture in heavy wood is complimented by the tiled floor, dramatic high ceilings and carved wooden door reliefs. Light pours in from the tall windows highlighting the traditional plastered ceiling that is finished in red paint and hand painted relief.

The comfortable sofa that is also a queen size sofa bed and large cosy chairs give you the perfect relaxation area after dinner on either the terrace or the dining area. It also has Satellite TV.

Further on and up a few steps you enter the kitchen area with everything a keen chef might need to prepare dinner on the terrace.

Through another door is the bathroom with tiles throughout, bidet, wc and shower and built-in vanity unit.

Again from the living area you pass through large wooden double doors into the first bedroom. You will fall in love with this space and its romantic feel - it’s just gorgeous. A large iron double bedstead and dark wooden furniture are softened by the rose walls and floor tiles that light up from sunlight pouring in from your very own French doors that open onto the patio and terrace.

From the first bedroom you access the second bedroom which too has all of the romance that a Lake Como visit can inspire. With its twin iron bedsteads that can be used as two singles or a double, and ample storage space, the second bedroom makes flexible accommodation. It too has a light and airy feel from tall French doors leading onto the patio.

Once out on the terrace and patio the drama heightens. The long terrace is flanked either side by large circular terracotta pots and a frosted privacy panel. A wrought iron table and chairs make a stunning setting for outdoor entertaining and there are several sun loungers for relaxation.

The end of the terrace is set back enough from the road to minimise passing traffic disturbance but close enough to allow enjoying the view of the lake in its full glory. At certain times during the season the tree in front of the terrace may restrict the view partially when it is in bloom.

Parking can be provided with the property in a secure garage close to the apartment. The cost for this is 10 euro per day paid directly to the owner.

Appartamento Le Agavi - sleeping up to six people. Living/dining area with double sofa bed, kitchen, one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, one bathroom with shower, large lakefront terrace. Cots can be hired for €30 per week but guests need to provide their own cot linen.

In the nearby village of Cadenabbia on the lakefront is a private swimming pool and lido with bar that can be used by Bella Como guests for a small daily charge. Under 12 years go free. In Tremezzo there is also a gorgeous lake side public park with fountains and a bar/cafe. Pictures are above.

Out and about without a car

Walking is both easy and enjoyable around this part of the lake. On your doorstep you be will rewarded with fresh bread and fresh groceries from the gorgeous store by the church. Just 20 metres across the road you are by the lake and the local ferry port from which you can travel across the lake to Bellagio or Menaggio for example.

The piazzas and streets have wonderful family run cafés and restaurants that are open most days from dawn till late where locals meet on the way to work for a brioche and espresso, or after work for a relaxing glass of Prosecco. There is also a good selection of restaurants such as 'Helvetia', 'Red & White' and 'El Timon' which are right next door.

Tremezzo is in the centre of the recently opened 'greenways'; these give you clear routes (denoted by beautiful green granite slabs and steel markers) for some of the best walks around the lake. You also within walking distance to Villa Balbianello (of James Bond fame) and the stunning gardens of Villa Carlotta.

A deposit of 25% is payable once we have confirmed your booking. This can be paid by Visa, Mastercard or Bank transfer. The balance is then payable one month before arrival, by Visa, Mastercard or Bank transfer. A modest charge is made by the owner for heating, it is metered and paid on departure. An average apartment will cost around 50 euro per week for heating. A deposit to cover breakages will be collected/returned by the owner on arrival/departure. The amount will be confirmed in your arrival pack.

You have full access to our concierge service free of charge, both before and during your stay (except for goods and services supplied).

We can also provide extra services including Internet dongles, cots, high chairs, pool towels and also delivery of keys to properties outside of our normal meet and greet service (price dependant on location of property).
